Lake Gunn is a lake in the South Island of New Zealand. The lake is around 75km from Te Anau. The red beech woods here are truly beautiful to walk through – loads of moss and ferns and the lake itself is a picture.

The west branch of the Eglinton River flows through the lake. The lake was named after George Gunn, a runholder, who discovered the lake in 1861.

There is a DOC campsite next to Lake Gunn so this would be a great place to camp the night.
